How much do your bedsheets shrink after the first wash?
Thread Kalaa 100% cotton bedsheets shrink 2–3% in the first cold wash and settle after one or two washes. We pre-shrink our fabric at the mill, so the sizing you see on the pack is the sizing you keep. Avoid hot water and dryer heat and your sheet stays true-to-size for 10–15 years.

Will the hand-block print bleed in the first wash?
A gentle release of excess dye is normal for genuine hand-block printed cotton for the first one or two cold washes. Wash separately in cold water with mild detergent (no bleach), then air dry in shade. After the first two washes the colour sets and will not bleed onto other garments.

What sizes do you offer and which fits my bed?
Double (90×100 inches), Queen (90×108 inches) and King (100×108 inches). Measure your mattress width and length, add 15–20 inches for tuck-under on each side. For a thicker mattress (10 inches or more), pick one size up to keep the drop generous. All sheets come with matching pillow covers.

How do I care for hand-block printed cotton bedsheets?
Cold machine wash on gentle, mild detergent, no bleach, air dry in shade. Light steam iron on the reverse side if needed. Avoid direct hot sun to protect the natural pigments. Full guide: care for hand-block printed cotton.

Where are your bedsheets made and are they genuinely hand-printed?
All our bedsheets are hand-block printed in Sanganer, Jaipur, by artisan families Thread Kalaa partners with directly. Carved teakwood blocks are dipped in azo-free pigments and pressed by hand onto 100% cotton. Small variations in placement and colour depth are the signature of true hand-craft — not a defect.

What is your return policy?
7-day returns for unused items in original packaging across India. Minor variations in print, slight irregularities in alignment, and small differences in colour depth from the website image are inherent to hand-block craft and are not considered defects. For international orders, we handle returns on a case-by-case basis via WhatsApp.

How to pick the right size for your bed

  1. Measure your mattress. Width and length in inches. Common sizes: Double 54×78, Queen 60×80, King 72×80.
  2. Add drop for tuck-under. Add 15–20 inches on each side (width AND length) for tuck-under.
  3. Add length for the headboard. Add an extra 10 inches at the head if you want the sheet to tuck under the pillow.
  4. Check your mattress depth. For 10+ inch deep mattresses, pick one size up to maintain the drop.
  5. Pick your Thread Kalaa size. 90×100 = Double, 90×108 = Queen, 100×108 = King. Each ships with two matching pillow covers (17×27 inches).
