Dohar = light cotton summer quilt, Rajasthan's answer to the heavy comforter. At Thread Kalaa, every dohar is 3 to 6 layers of mulmul cotton (90–110 GSM), hand-stitched edge-to-edge, hand-block printed on both sides. Reversible. Washable. Perfect for Indian summers and gentle winters.

How to pick the right dohar size

  1. Measure your mattress width + add 20 inches on each side for comfortable drape.
  2. Measure your mattress length + add 10 inches for foot-end tuck.

North Indian winter (Delhi, Jaipur) — layer two dohars or pair with a razai. South Indian winter (Bangalore, Chennai) — one dohar is plenty.

Can I use a dohar on a sofa?

Absolutely. A Queen or King dohar is a popular sofa throw. Reversible printing means you can flip when one side needs airing.

How do I wash a hand-block printed dohar?

Gentle cold-water machine wash, inside-out. Line dry in shade. Medium iron on the plain side.

Do your dohars come with pillow covers?

Dohars are sold standalone. Pillow covers are included only with bedsheets.
